The Legislative Assembly Building dates back to 1882 and is late Victorian in style. The Assembly Chamber is open to the public when the Legislature is not in session. Notable features include an ornate Lieutenant Governor’s Throne and a 35 000-volume library.

Built in 1827 to serve as a military hospital, this building later served as a school in 1875. Fire destroyed the structure in 1929, which was later reconstructed to become a college, than law courts. Today the Justice Building houses Gallery Connexion, a non-profit artist -run gallery, the School Days Museum filled with educational memorabilia and a dance studio named Dance Fredericton.

The oldest city hall in the Maritimes, Fredericton’s City Hall was constructed in 1876, with additional space added one hundred years later. Visitors can tour council chambers from mid May until mid October (other times by appointment), as well as view 24 polychromatic tapestries depicting the history of Fredericton.
